One of the major changes in Windows 8 is the new start screen with Metro UI tiles. The classic start menu and start button are replaced with a new start screen with a tiled interface in Windows 8. A lot of users were not happy with the tiled start menu as it is specifically designed for computers with Touchscreen.
But some developers out there brought back the classic start menu in Windows 8. There are many tools like Start8, Start Menu X, Power8 and Start Menu 8 which brings back the start menu and button in Windows 8. Classic Start 8 is yet another freeware tool for getting back the classic start menu and start button.
Classic Start 8 provides similar function to that of a Windows 7 Start menu and works perfectly with Windows 8. The app is good alternative for those who prefer the traditional Start menu over the Metro UI in latest Windows 8.
Installing and using Classic Start 8 is easy. You don’t need to configure anything additionally. Once installed, it adds a classic start button and menu to Windows 8. The app is compatible with both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows 8.
